As the Filipinos face another years of happiness and sadness, another bubbling factor affecting their lives is the continuous arousal of superstitious beliefs. As they say, laughter drives evil forces away from oneself. Filipinos can hardly get out of the roots, and why laughter has been an emerging panacea of such demonic strengths. Instead, why not say “Laughter is the best medicine?” It would probably make a lot of sense to everybody. Every Filipino will quadrate with other foreigners in this sane scenario of superficial notion that encompasses emotion, belief, and strength of being a truly-blooded Asian.

This usual practice among Filipinos of making the best out of New Year has brought great significant differences. One is the propagation of a positive outlook in life. A growing conception of having a new life in a New Year has been a solid pillar towards having a sound outlook in life. Another is the establishment of a starting point leading to growth and development.

Encouragement to pursue success and leading marks is a stuck-pigment. The inner self is the best structure to formulate and shape one’s character. The dependent ego banks on feeding within human peak through extrinsic motivation while the independent ego stands itself at all odds and banks on perseverance and efforts to reach goals with intrinsic motivation. All of them will depend on culture, especially the beliefs of the Filipinos about New Year or the New Year’s Resolution.

Whatever it is that influences the sweet flavor of a New Year, everybody throws hat into it. Thus, what matters most is the genuine deliberation of thoughts to be shared with one another. Infusion of harmony, love and respect to one another seems idealistic and prolific, and one day it will lead to ultimate happiness not just only for one event like New Year but also for other significant events — intended for a lifetime benchmark of one’s abode
