In time of crisis, Filipinos became more united

As the Filipinos face another years of happiness and sadness, another bubbling factor affecting their lives is the continuous arousal of superstitious beliefs. As they say, laughter drives evil forces away from oneself. Filipinos can hardly get out of the roots, and why laughter has been an emerging panacea of such demonic strengths. Instead, why not say “Laughter is the best medicine?” It would probably make a lot of sense to everybody. Every Filipino will quadrate with other foreigners in this sane scenario of superficial notion that encompasses emotion, belief, and strength of being a truly-blooded Asian.

This usual practice among Filipinos of making the best out of New Year has brought great significant differences. One is the propagation of a positive outlook in life. A growing conception of having a new life in a New Year has been a solid pillar towards having a sound outlook in life. Another is the establishment of a starting point leading to growth and development.

Encouragement to pursue success and leading marks is a stuck-pigment. The inner self is the best structure to formulate and shape one’s character. The dependent ego banks on feeding within human peak through extrinsic motivation while the independent ego stands itself at all odds and banks on perseverance and efforts to reach goals with intrinsic motivation. All of them will depend on culture, especially the beliefs of the Filipinos about New Year or the New Year’s Resolution.

Whatever it is that influences the sweet flavor of a New Year, everybody throws hat into it. Thus, what matters most is the genuine deliberation of thoughts to be shared with one another. Infusion of harmony, love and respect to one another seems idealistic and prolific, and one day it will lead to ultimate happiness not just only for one event like New Year but also for other significant events — intended for a lifetime benchmark of one’s abode

rance’s doors remain open for thousands of competent and talented Filipino workers, including nurses and information technology professionals, even as French officials renewed their appeal to the Philippine government to sign an immigration agreement with France, Europe’s tourism capital.

French Ambassador Gérard Chesnel said his government has softened its immigration policy to welcome foreign workers, refuting claims that France would close its doors to Filipino workers following the European Parliament’s adoption of the draft directive on the return of illegal migrants last June 18.

“On the contrary, we open the doors more widely enough. We would like to have more Filipinos in France. The only condition is you come legally,” the French ambassador said in an interview.

He said the European Union’s new immigration directive expected to be adopted in late September or early October seeks to encourage legal migration.

The Philippines is the largest source of migrants to Europe. Within the European Union (EU), the biggest number of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) is in the United Kingdom, numbering 203,000; followed by Italy with 120,000; Germany, 54,000; France, 47,000; and Spain, 41,000. The information came from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas following a survey it conducted last December.

Chesnel said French authorities are still awaiting the response of the Philippine government on the proposed agreement, which aims to address Paris’ labor market needs.

“We’re still waiting the answer from the Philippine government. But it is not necessary to sign this agreement to put in force this new policy. We are trying to sign such agreement with few countries, including the Philippines,” he said.

Even if the immigration agreement is not signed, Chesnel said, this doesn’t prevent French authorities from issuing “competence” cards to professional Filipino workers who wish to work in France.

sulpico, princess of the starEveryone know that this ferry sink many days ago. When they heard the news that the company will bring back or re-float the ships too many disagreed. They want it to be there forever.

I know they are still hurt due to tragedy. Well my comment is for them not to judge the ship itself. I have ride many times with this ship and it is for me the best ferry in the Philippines. My suggestion is let us not punish the Princess of the Stars but rather the captain of the ship. Why, well i am a driver and I decide what to do with my vehicle. It is all my call. Therefore it is not my vehicle that should be punish if i got the accident. I hope everyone agree with it.
